As the release date of The Shires’ new album ‘Accidentally On Purpose‘ (April 20th) nears, band members Ben Earle and Crissie Rhodes have been dropping teasers of the LP “accidentally on purpose”. So far they have revealed the track-list,album artwork, announced the first play of their new single ‘Guilty’, and now they have released their new music video for the track all on “accident”.
It’s a fun and unique marketing campaign that is getting tongues wagging and there is a real interest in the way the UK country act are promoting their new music. Yesterday during a live Facebook Q and A the pair faked technical difficulties in order to Accidentally On Purpose show clips of their ‘Guilty’ video before coming clean and officially releasing the fun-filled clip.
The sun drenched video was filmed in Los Angeles earlier this year, and has a real pop vibe to it. It’s loud and fun and sees Rhodes and Earle breaking the rules as they have a good time. It’s a really fun clip that ties in beautifully with the song’s toe-tapping, sing-a-long lyrics.
Speaking about the treatment for the video, Crissie says: “From the moment we read the initial concept, we knew this video was going to be a lot of fun to shoot. We got to act a little more in this video – I even got handcuffed by the police. The location for the shoot was really cool, it was set at The Pink Motel in LA which has an 80’s vibe to it, with the bold, bright colours and a slight nod to ‘Stranger Things’ which we love!”
‘Guilty’ is a fantastic country-pop single and the official video for the song is three minutes of pure entertainment. It’s colourful and entertaining and just a really grit clip.
