Drake kicked off the first of seven nights at the O2 Arena last night for his ‘Assassination Vacation’ tour. A night filled with flying Ferraris, tiny, twinkling drones, a neon basketball court, and a tribute to late rapper, Nipsey Hussle–this was a night to remember. It’s safe to say that Drake really did ‘turn the O2 into the O3’ and started his London shows with a bang.

The night began with a large curtain descending onto the stage as Drake ran inside. It was used as a projector, as his shadow was moving whilst the opening song ‘8 out of 10’ was played.

Performing a setlist of his most iconic hits over the years, (including ‘In My Feelings’, ‘Nice For What’, ‘Fake Love’, ‘One Dance’) the hip-hop artist made sure he gave the fans exactly what they were waiting for.

With a mixture of his early-day hits like ‘Crew Love’ and ‘Headlines’, the rapper included his most famous features too such as ‘Work’, shouting to the crowd: “Let’s give it up for Rihanna one time!”, ‘MIA’ featuring Columbian rapper, Bad Bunny, ‘Blessings’ and finally ‘SICKO MODE’.

Not only did Drake deliver a high level of entertainment for music lovers, but the rapper made sure he did it with the best in the business, be it local or across the pond. “I get a lot of love from a lot of places in this big world…”

With a tribute to the UK Drill scene, he brought drill artists, DigDat and Unknown T to perform on a Union Jack stage, whilst UK rapper, Giggs –a local rapper who featured of Drake’s album ‘More Life’- came to perform ‘Gyalchester’ and ‘187’. Towards the end of the show, he brought his hip-hop friends, with Future joining the stage as they performed ‘March Madness’ followed by ‘Mask Off’.

If you want a night filled with your favourite hip-hop artists, some pleasing visuals and a flying Ferrari, while one of the music industry’s most prestigious and respected artist performs then The Assassination Vacation tour is for you.
